Welcome

Follow along my journey to design and manage meaningful experiences

My Story

My youthful nickname, “Clipboard Sarah,” results from years of creating and designing activities, planning, caring for details, and executing plans. In elementary school, the nickname stuck after I used a clipboard to design the optimal recess routine, maximizing my peers’ efficiency and enjoyment. Over time, the playgrounds have changed, but the desire and willingness to build and execute a vision are still there. The thing I love most about event planning is seeing others feel engaged and included. I want individuals to connect with each other and to feel part of something larger than themselves. Changing the world happens incrementally, and well-planned experiences power incremental change.

Strengths

As a child, my sisters and I played with our dolls, creating imaginative narratives for them. One time while playing “airport”, I designed an entire doll airport experience, planning out the doll travel process. While my preparation for this airport game may have been overboard, it demonstrates my ability to identify and design more efficient processes and better customer experiences. I blend the strategically oriented left brain with the creative and people oriented right brain.

When I am in an environment where I have freedom to make midcourse corrections, space to store resources, time for reflection, relevant background for discussions and decisions, and a sounding board or audience, I will thrive and provide creative anticipation, imagination, persistence, depth of understanding, accurate memories, attention to important messages and tangible tools that can facilitate growth and performance.

About

A seasoned event coordinator, I’ve spent the last three years learning about the event industry – from immersive parties to BYU Career Fairs. I’m currently working at the Boys and Girls Clubs of Utah County where I am responsible for managing fundraising event logistics, processing donations and tax receipts, and coordinating corporate volunteer opportunities. Feel free to connect with me; I always have 5 minutes to talk!
